This is our new review for Private VPN with all the Updates and facts for 2019!
Security
The level of encryption is standard and nor better nor worse than with the top providers. They are slowly growing and by now there is no chance to overlook PrivateVPN.
They also claim to have a no logs policy which is camparable to the other providers. There is still no guarantee that there is no tracking whilst the sign up process. Like other VPNs, PrivateVPN supports a variety of protocols including OpenVPN, and their encryption is top-notch.
Performance
PrivateVPN claims to have “the fastest speeds and unlimited bandwidth” and that seems really keen. We noticed they just own about a hundred servers which is a really low number. But for our test the speed was constantly available. We tested at different times of the day and different locations but streaming, downloading, and gaming were ok. It’s definitely not blowing your mind with ultra highspeed but it’s absolutely in the normal range for a VPN provider. And frankly spoken, all claim to be the fastest. So let’s be fair and keep this in mind.
Usability
That being said, the installation process is quite easy, and PrivateVPN’s Free Remote Help – which offers virtual help and installation via Team Viewer – is very unique.
PrivateVPN can be installed on Windows, Android, iOS and Linux, and it only takes a few minutes. I have to mention that I’m not a fan of theier website style and I think their client looks a little old-fashioned. But this is just my opinion. The user surface is ok and easy to use.
Support
Even if there is 24/7 support, our support experience we had was not that good. There is a lot to improve. Other VPN providers offer more services, act and answer faster, and a litlle more polite. The reaction time was more than half a day and the answer we got was not satisfactory.
The live chat was not working when I made this review so I can’t say anything concerning this support category.
Pricing
Similar to other providers there are three different plans. You can get 1 month, 3 months or 13 months which is really strange because 1 and 3 months are really narrow paired but 3 months are way cheaper than one and then there is the 13 months plan. With 1.89$/month it’s one of the best prices you can get. Sadly there are no long term offers like 24 months. I suggest a 24 months plan for 1.50$/month. What do you think of that, PricateVPN? 🙂
And yes, there is the standard 30-day-money-back guarantee, but some people are complaining about not getting their money back. So we keep suspicious on this topic.
Conclusion
Overall, PrivateVPN is a good VPN provider for standard security, anonymity, streaming movies, and a stabile speed while surfing. The customer support and refund policy could (obviously) be better but there is really everything you need and their 1 year plan is definitely a good offer.
